Halloween Cat Costumes
--------Does this seem a little cliche'? A little out of character of me? Halloween costumes for pets? No way. I have a cat. I would say that I have 2, but my other cat is an asshole and I don't like to accept that responsibility as my own. Let's face it, if you have a cat, all of them are assholes, but this other one, is a giant fucking asshole. It's a feather duster of an animal that doesn't give a shit about personal space knocks over coffee cups, sleeps in shoes, leaves giant patches of fur around the house and the only good thing it's for is killing bugs. Sally is an asshole.--------
Jack is cool. Yes. We have Jack and Sally. Jack is a one eyed, one testicle cat that we found wandering around our back alley one day. We opened the door, he wasn't skittish, he came right in our house like he owned the place, jumped up on our kitchen chair and clapped.
...yes, no typo...clapped. For treats. He touches his ears when he wants you to pet him and he chases his tail when he wants you to rub his body. He's one of a kind. Not like this Voldemort fucking asshole cat. FUCK YOU SALLY.

We also have a hamster which Ava named Daisy (too much Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.) It doesn't bite, the cats are cool with it, when you say "Daisy-Bo" it comes out to the front of its cage to get treats, and it lets you hold it.
All in all we have a good set of pets and we agree that we have too much shit going on in our lives to get a dog.
Dogs are too much: "Wag wag, hey what the fucks up! Lick lick. I missed you. Hey yo! I've been barking and whining all day! Them new $40 shoes were SOOOO GOOD you gotta buy more of those for me to chew on." And I'm too much "Get the fuck away from me PLEASE!"
So let's talk about how stupid I thought it would be to buy costumes for these fuzzy fucks. And the toys, and the little houses, and the cat nip, and little hamster cars. That is until, you buy one...rather than one is bought and you see how miserable and/or fun they have with it. Misery as in "they make that face that Ralphie did in that bunny outfit from "A Christmas Story."
Ya that blank "Get me the fuck out of this I hate my life, I hate you, burn die, fuck you." stare. Immediately followed by 10sec. to 5min. of them frantically running around the house ripping at their own body trying to tear off whatever costume they have on.
This is Sally in a nutshell...not literally, although they probably have those costumes.
Jack is chill, as you seen above, he actually has a little Santa costume as well. And Daisy the hamster, well she doesn't give a shit, she's a hamster.
If anything, Ava like's to torture the cats. Not "physically". But play with. Dress them up with her dolls, carry them around, put them in her Barbie car, that stuff. She loves when we buy cute little "dolly costumes" for the pets.
I'm going to scroll through Pinterest, Youtube, BuyCostumes, CostumeCraze, Amazon and a bunch of misc. Google searches and write down some ones that catch her eye (this may be all of them). Then go back through and pick her favorites.
--------After all of this, ON HALLOWEEN we're going to go out and either BUY or MAKE (if it's a crazy DIY costume) for the cats and post the pix on here, and the other TPPD Social Media Outlets.--------
1. Lion Cat
Is anything more simple and cute/cool than a cat with a lion's main on? Ferocious...
Ava: Dad, it looks like the Lion Guard.
2. Cat-Pool
This Tumblr user @Cat_Cosplay, (also under the same Twitter and Instagram user name) absolutely LOVES dressing their cats up in different cosplay. What's cosplay?
Basically anything relevant to the realm of video games, anime, movies, nostalgia, TV shows, comic book based characters. If it's been at Comic Con, it's cosplay. Nerdy shit basically. In an awesome way. (Fuck you, I love it.)
Mostly because Ava and I went dressed as Deadpool, sorry "DAD-Pool" and Hawkeye one year.
Ava: "Dad, now you and Jack can be the same!"
So with that in mind, here's one of my favorite.
3. Samurai
If you wanna splurge on something a little stupid on your pet, this is a definite go to. This Japanese based company Samurai Age creates custom armor for your cats and dogs between the prices of $125-$160 in a variety of colors.
Ava: "The kitty's will look just like Ninjago!"
4. Nyan Cat
What is Nyan Cat? (Nyan Cat is the name of a YouTube video uploaded in April 2011, which then became an Internet meme. The Japanese pop song by Hatsune Miku was of an animated cat with Pop-Tart body flying through space leaving a rainbow trail.)
I can't find anything except a Pinterest pic, so buying this out right is out of the question and resorting to being crafty will have to do. This pic seems to be a DIY fabric project.
Ava: "The cat is pooping rainbows."

5. Power Rangers
Getting cats to dress up like your favorite childhood masked ninja heroes? Hell yes. I have an alternative to making my own though. Cats to my kid are like teddy bears...she tries to dress them up, sometimes successful...with that said...just use doll costumes? or better yet Build-A-Bear costumes.
By all means, I am not suggesting you STOCK BUY this, and shove your pet in it. There will be modifications. And be smart, Don't try to shove your 25lb. fat ass cat in here, and if you're going for the mask, cut out out the eyes.
Ava: "They can't wear doll cloths can they? You told me I can't put those on the cats anymore. Daddy! C'mon pick one!."
6. Taco
Why? because Taco Cat spelled backwards is still Taco Cat...fact check that.
Ava: "Awe that cute kitty is in a Taco Bell."
7. Pizza
Moving right along with the food theme comes "Pizza Cat". Why pizza? Because Pop-Punk = Pizza...right? This cat looks so happy.
Ava: "Pizza. Pizza. Pizza. He's got a pepperoni pizza cape! I want one for Sally baby."
8. Pirate
I already said that I got Jack a pirate costume. "One eyed Jack." "Captain Jack Sparrow." What have you. He hates it, he tears at the little hat, but seems to be okay with the little skull and crossbones vest. This one gives them a full body. I might have to get him this one too...
Ava: "It's like the one Pirate hat that Jackie poo has. We can get one for Sally and they can be like twins."
9. Freddy Krueger
What's a more realistically cute costume than your pissed off furry friend in furiously frantically trying to find their way out of a Freddy Krueger costume? Go ahead, I'll wait...
Ava: "He's standing up like Jack does. Awe look at his little hat."
-Side note. She doesn't really know what Nightmare on Elm St. is yet. So this was more my pick than hers.
10. Pikachu
This one comes in a few different sizes, and you can hook up your leash underneath if you have a harness for both cats and dogs. (Harness is separate.) And if yourself or your child dress up like Ash, you could go as a pair. "I choose you!" "Gotta catch em all!"
Ava: "It's like my hoodie, but for the kittens."
