BROKEN BAY COALITION - Sleep More, Sisyphus ALBUM REVIEW

Hailing from Sayville, NY punk rock quartet BROKEN BAY COALITION is a diverse blend of fast melodic pop-punk with the aggressive "spit in your face" attitude of punk music. To boot 3 of the 4 are punk rock dads themselves!
Their latest forthcoming LP SLEEP MORE, SISYPHUS is a definite testament to that with a diverse array of punk rock jams littered throughout its 8-track guts.
Tunes like "Lullaby of Sisyphus" and "Beloved Arsonist" are reminiscent of bands like Generation X meets Rancid, with the raspy melodic vocals, heavy guitars and straight forward drum beats (with the occasional tom roll) and are in all, total punk rock "veg-out" tunes.
Tunes like "Coffee & Contemplation" and "Attacked by Clowns" seem to have their roots embedded in 70's & 80's rock with a punk rock landscape. Big, epic guitar/drum crescendo intros into straight punk tunes with the occasional guitar solo thrown in.
Whereas the rest of the album seems to be influenced by early 2000's heavier pop-punk with an entire salt shaker of 90's punk rock dumped into the mixture which is like a cross between Pennywise/Rancid meets Sum 41 and Anti-Flag with some 2-part harmonies tossed in, classic/hard rock guitar riffs and hard hitting, fast punk beats.
