JORDAN BLAKE Original Frontman of A SKYLIT DRIVE Has Passed Away

Jordan Blake, the original frontman/vocalist of the post-hardcore/emo band A Skylit Drive, has passed away. The news was released on the band's official social media platforms. The cause of Jordan's death has not been disclosed. The family has requested privacy at this time.

Jordan's voice was unique and considered a pioneer in the genre blending high-pitched singing with screaming vocals most popular in the post-hardcore scene at the time.

He exited the band during a tour in 2007 for health related reasons which left him unable to finish touring. The band briefly employed a replacement in the form of Jonny Craig, of Dance Gavin Dance, then Craig Mabbitt, previously of blessthefall, before the final addition of Michael"Jag" Jagmin which ended up being ASD classic lineup. Jordan Blake would later go on to form Speak of the Devil in 2013, he was also in the groups Ann Arbor, Watchout! There's Ghosts and Trances.

In January of 2022, the band's original 2006 lineup announced that they were reuniting in celebration of the 15th anniversary of their debut EP She Watched the Sky where the played several shows under that run.

The band took to social media after the news of Jordan's passing with the following statement:

"We are overwhelmed with grief to inform you of the loss of Jordan early this morning. Jordan was a trail blazer in the emo/post hardcore music scene with undeniable passion who loved his fans like family. When he had a story to tell, you could read it in his lyrics, hear it in his voice, see it his movements and feel it in your depths. We will forever reflect fondly on the memories and music we shared. We love you Jordan, we'll see you down the road brother. "Always in our Hearts".
"We want to respect Jordan's family's wishes for privacy and space to grieve so we will not be commenting until further notice. Thank you all for reaching out and for your kind words. His legacy will live on through all of you.
