MC LARS Gives The Edgar Allan Poe LP an Expanded Anniversary Edition
An album about Edgar Allan Poe landing back in the conversation during October? That timing is almost too perfect. MC Lars has given The Edgar Allan Poe LP a one-year anniversary edition, expanding the original 12-track release into a 19-track collection through Oglio Entertainment.
If “lit-hop” is new to you, Lars has made a whole lane out of bringing literature into hip-hop without turning it into homework. This one digs into Poe’s world, and the expanded edition adds three new 2026 versions alongside four cuts from Lars’s 2012 Poe EP. Jaret Reddick of Bowling for Soup, The Dead Milkmen, and Mega Ran are among the guests. That is a wonderfully odd guest list in the best way.
As a dad, I love anything that can start a conversation about books through the music already playing in the car. A Poe album with this much punk-scene overlap is an easy one to bring up when the Halloween decorations come out. The expanded edition is available now.
