OLD NEON Drops New Single BETTER SON

Pop punk group Old Neon is excited to share their new single “Better Son”, out now and streaming here. The song comes from the band’s forthcoming EP, Resolution, which is set to be released on May 23rd. The EP was produced / engineered by Matt Brasch and mixed by Nick Steinborn (The Wonder Years), in addition to mastering by Will Yip (Scowl, Balance & Composure, Movements, L.S. Dunes, The Menzingers).

About the new single, bassist Sean Michael shares: “’Better Son’ is a song about my uncle dying, the sort aftermath on the family, and wrestling with the fact that fate kind of took the wrong person.”

Old Neon is unlikely. Five strangers from Pittsburgh, PA coming together as the world was opening up again, never knowing if they would ever get to play a show. Unlikely that a band would make it through so many personal and creative differences to create their own tapestry of pop punk and grow together and become greater than the some of their parts. Unlikely that they would share stages with the biggest names in their genre, and challenge themselves as writers, and make it work at all. From the brink of breaking up altogether, the band prepares to deliver their most moving work.

The producer of their forthcoming EP, Resolution, Matt Brasch (The Wonder Years, Cold Climb It) has stated that they have done “better than make it work. Not only did the band make things work, they succeeded in stepping up their craft as songwriters and performers throughout the project. They dug deep for beautiful and explosive performances.”
