STALEWORTH & CRASH THE CALM Split EP

staleworth group

New York postcore band Staleworth is a combination of postcore, pop-punk with a splash of progressive rock thrown in for sheer flavor and diversity. The band's 2016 EP COVALENCE is a test to this, with a reminiscent sound of old school Taking Back Sunday meets The Story So Far dawning that "splash" of Coheed & Cambria in the mix. (Also one of the best tours to come about in the last 5 years.)

Moving on to yet another New York pop-punk band comes the likes of CRASH THE CALM. The five members started the band in 2014 taking on the NYC post-grunge scene casting off the ambient echo of prog-pop-punk bands like Circa Survive in the background. The band's 2017 LP "HOW'VE YOU BEEN?" defines the band's eery, deep sound combined with heavy afterglow.

Enter the Staleworth/Crash the Calm Split EP. The bands teamed up together with Downport Records for this EP blending elements of emo, hardcore, grunge, and ambient rock, creating emotional and heavy-hitting tracks. The two bands bring their own flavors to the table with a sick diverse yet uniform grunge/pop-punk album that's best listened to than described.
