Sweet Cheetah Announces Anniversary show featuring The Color Fred +MORE!

Sweet Cheetah Publicity, a small, socially conscious PR collective based in Dayton, Ohio, is hosting a 9th Anniversary show on October 1, 2021 at Blind Bob's in their hometown.
Founded in August 2012, Sweet Cheetah helped to spread the word about a variety of bands, artists, authors, DIY initiatives, festivals, conferences, and more. Those campaigns included Bob Nanna (of Braid, Hey Mercedes), Berwanger (of the Anniversary), Gordon Withers' Jawbreaker on Cello, Soft Kill, Ohio University's Music Industry Summit (featuring St. Vincent, Phoebe Bridgers, Run The Jewels, etc.), EarthQuaker Devices, Massage (featuring members of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart) and hundreds of others.
The celebration includes Dayton, Ohio's The 1984 Draft, a band that includes co-Cheetah founder Joe Anderl. The band is currently working on the follow up to their wildly critically acclaimed Makes Good Choices LP for Poptek Recs. Fans of Smoking Popes, Replacements, Jawbreaker will love The Draft.
Detroit, Michigan's Extra Arms are also on the bill. Extra Arms is a quartet fronted by Ryan Allen, formerly of Red Shirt Brigade, Destroy This Place, Thunderbirds Are Now! and more. The band has completed their follow up to Up From Here to be released in '22. Recommended for fans of Superchunk and Teenage Fanclub.
Third, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's The Color Fred is a group helmed by Fred Mascherino of Breaking Pangaea, Terrible Things and Taking Back Sunday fame, although he has also performed with The Lemonheads and Say Anything. Although, not a Sweet Cheetah artist, the band are longtime friends of the SCPR co-founders.
Finally, Dayton, Ohio's The Nautical Theme (ex-Simply Waiting, Waking Kills The Dream, etc.), who recently released their Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed EP perform. The duo combines modern folk and indie pop sensibilities for a sound that recalls She & Him, The Swell Season and the like.
In addition to entertainment, there will be several door prizes from The 1984 Draft, Poptek Records, Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos, Thunderstars, Abiyah, Friend Club Records, Sell The Heart Records and more.
Sweet Cheetah will also offer the opportunity to purchase adorable, high-quality merchandise printed by Little Monster Printing including t-shirts, pullover hoodies, and crewneck sweatshirts. All revenue generated from sale of merchandise will go to a local charity that SCPR is still deciding on.
The show is for ages 21+ and will cost $10 at the door. Masks, proof of Covid vaccination or negative Covid tests are encouraged for the safety of attendees and performers.
