Bristol, UK punk quartet Weatherstate recently released their massively hooky new single “Hangar” and now the track has a music video with an extraterrestrial theme. "When we had started shaping up the original demo ideas for ‘Hangar’ in the spring of last year, I was bouncing riffs off of our long-time video director and pal Ben Pollard,” says guitarist Callan Milward. “Whilst we had no initial plans in place for music videos at that time, his initial vibe on the track kept coming back to thoughts about outer space, which ended up snowballing into something much greater. It's safe to say this is perhaps the start of what's to come and we can't wait to drip-feed our barmy world into everyone. Thanks to everyone who's joined the initiative so far.”

Weatherstate’s sound takes you on a nostalgic journey back to the early 90's of punk and dawn of pop-punk all while incorporating new energy that makes them all the more while to listen to in this modern era of punk rock.

Hangar” is the first track the band have released via their new label Rude Records and the riff-fuelled composition is expertly produced by Four Year Strong’s Alan Day.

Rising to the challenges that COVID has posed, Weatherstate have been working with Day as a producer remotely and, in a similar vein, they had to be a bit creative in getting footage together for the “Hangar” music video. “It goes without saying but doing everything remotely has been a massive challenge and an interesting obstacle to overcome,” admits Milward. “Especially for us, as we have been pretty traditionalist when it comes to writing. I feel we handled it in the best way we could, considering the international side of things too. With pre-production, we had to have some late nights because of the time-zone differences. Neil Kennedy at The Ranch really nailed the engineering and Alan smashed the mix over in the States. All I can say is that you can work miracles over Zoom these days.”
