CIRCUS RHAPSODY - Sexxxy As Fuck! Yummie As Hell ALBUM REVIEW

Hailing from Berlin, CIRCUS RHAPSODY are a charismatic, melodic hardcore punk quartet that utilizes horns and orchestra instruments in their fast punk beat, heavy guitar driven band.

The band is super familiar with "the scene" getting their start way back in 2009 with a sound only comparable to the likes of legendary punk/ska sounding bands Less Than Jake and/or NOFX. CIRCUS RHAPSODY bring this stripped down punk rock sound to the table yet add elements of melodic hardcore with the 1st & 3rd part harmonies as well as a ska element drizzled in and out of their tunes with an orchestra and horn line that makes the band sound super full.

Fresh off of their fall tour, and recently dropping a 7" inch EP "Sexxxy as fuck! Yummy As Hell!" this past August the band's latest single CHUCKY is a perfect example of that. The tune has it's punk rock edge with the fast hardcore punk beats and clocking in just shy of a 2 minute song (classic NOFX shit right there.) But the length of the song doesn't matter as it gets its entire point across in that time.

LOBSTER, another track on the 7" inch album is the perfect example of their ska and folkpunk elements coming into play featuring horns dabbled throughout the song with a giant blanket of punk rock spread across the landscape featuring classic punk rock beats, harmonies and melodies similar to that of Bad Religion or LTJ.

Closing out Sexxxy as fuck! Yummy As Hell!, Circus Rhapsody covered Dead n' Breakfast by SHRIMPFIELD, another band I've featured on The Pop Punk Dad site before. Structurally same as SHRIMPFIELD's original easycore sound, Circus Rhapsody add their own identity and composition to the song.
