Nights Like Thieves - Light The Fuse And Run ALBUM REVIEW

Night Like Thieves Group

Mario Rivera

Steve Smith Scott Vincent Franky Gunman

Recently signing to La Escalera Records San Diego pop punk NIGHTS LIKE THIEVES, bring forth a brand EP "LIGHT THE FUSE AND RUN." The 6 track album brings emotion, heart, and hard hitting pop rock/punk songs about relationships, heartbreak and growing up.

LIGHT THE FUSE AND RUN is a killer pop punk/rock record that definitely shows NIGHTS LIKE THIEVES ability to spread across genres both punk and rock.

NIGHTS LIKE THIEVES, combines a mixture of upbeat and slower rhythms with emotional melodies that brings back that nostalgic emo/punk/rock sound in a newer way. (I couldn't have said it any better.) The guys draw influence from bands like Saves The Day, Deftones, and Screeching Weasel which is evident in tunes like COME BACK HOME and GOLDBUGS.

I COLLIDE, the latest single from NLT reminds me of 2000's pop-punk bands like Good Charlotte and Boys Like Girls mixed with the heaviness of straight punk bands like The Offspring. (mostly their latter records with the upbeat poppy tunes.)

The video for I COLLIDE is awesome. It reminds me of Everclear's- AM Radio where the guys relive their adolescent years. Likewise with I COLLIDE, the guys take you through a movie marathon of classic movies while putting them selves right in the middle of it all. Check it yourself!
