PATENT PENDING "Punk Rock Songs" SINGLE REVIEW

Patent Pending dropped their newest epic banger entitled “Punk Rock Songs" two months ago which has already been streamed over 175K times on Spotify.

The 3min. 11sec. pop-punk tune journeys the listener through the perspective of the touring punk rock musician with lyrics about tour, live shows, writing songs and life on the road. It's a song that immediately hits home for any musician who's ever lived or wanted to live that life while also making it entirely relatable and enjoyable for any non-musician.

Punk Rock Songs is nothing like anything I've ever heard from Patent Pending. You can tell the band has come a long way since their 2009 album "Attack Of The Awesome!!!" and have deeply grown since their recent 2015 record "Riot Hearts Rebellion." Musically, Punk Rock Songs sounds closer to something from Riot Hearts Rebellion while still staying true to the angst and emotionally driven 2013 album "Brighter" that is still my favorite Patent Pending album to date.

Punk Rock Songs starts off with a beast crescendo that keeps gradually growing throughout the entire song, first with just lead singer Joe Ragosta's vocals over a piano track that slowly builds into a full-fledged verse that continues building into an all out rock chorus that continues through the song until it's abrupt 3 minute and some-odd second ending. Patent Pending is a band that never ceases to amaze me with every album sounding better than the last and every song written from the heart. If this is the future of Patent Pending, I can't wait to hear what's next from the band!
