Taylor Hawkins Drummer of the Foo Fighters dead at 50.
Taylor Hawkins, best known as the drummer for the rock band Foo Fighters, has died according to a statement from the band. He was 50 years old.
“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” read the message, which was posted to social media. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.”
“Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”
Foo Fighters are currently on tour in South America and were set to perform in Bogota, Colombia where local news reports said that Taylor was found dead in a hotel room in Bogota. The band announced that they won't be performing at Festival Estéreo Picnic in the capital following the tragedy.
