Tilian Pearson Steps Away From Dance Gavin Dance Following Sexual Allegations
Dance Gavin Dance has revealed that vocalist Tilian Pearson will be stepping away from the band. These actions stem from sexual assault allegations from a Reddit user who posted a nearly 7,000-word recollection of her interactions with the singer when the band played at the SwanFest event in Sacramento CA on April 23rd.
In a response on social media, the band went on to say that "The recent allegations against Tilian are something we take very seriously, and we have been in deep discussion regarding the appropriate action..." They also went on to say that "Effective immediately Tilian will be stepping away from the band in order to seek professional help."
Dance Gavin Dance explained that they would still continue on with all currently scheduled tour dates as well as still release their upcoming 10th studio album "Jackpot Juicer" which is due out July 19th, 2022, the follow-up album to 2020's Afterburner. The news of the allegations follows the recent and untimely death of Dance Gavin Dance bassist Tim Feerick who was found dead at an apartment complex in the Rosemont area of Sacramento County on April 14 of this year, he was only 34 years old. Dance Gavin Dance added about Tim, "We all worked incredibly hard on this album, and it is also the last recorded body of work from Tim — we want to be sure we give it the full release attention that it deserves to honor his legacy."
