HANG TIGHT - “It's So Whatever" SINGLE REVIEW
Pete Zengerle Bill Cardella Juan Ramirez Montana Voegtlin
With influences from the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series comes New Jersey pop-punk quartet HANG TIGHT.
The band is a thunderous blend of modern pop-punk and new wave surf rock with a spirit of early 2000's inspired anthems.
The band recently released a new single/video, IT'S SO WHATEVER which is a perfect example of that. The tune has already been added to Spotify's New Punk Tracks playlist.
The tune has this over exaggerated reverb/delay guitar in it that I love, reminds me of old school 50s-60s bands like The Ventures or the random sounds that Primus or Dead Kennedys used in their tunes. It's got some cool dynamic parts that drop off to just guitar and vocals then get intense with a huge build off only to drop off and build up again. It's definitely something new, and the band itself is a total pallet cleanser to the constant barrage of "the same sounding" bands.
But don't take my word for it! Check it out below!
The band is set to take on a EU/UK tour then head back to the US to finish off some dates.
