KEEP FLYING "Artie" SINGLE REVIEW

October 15, 2019

Undoubtedly one of the, if not THE hardest working band out there today, Keep Flying rounds out 2019 with their newest punk rock tune entitled Artie.

Artie (The Strongest Man Alive), which dropped on Oct. 11th, is by far one of the band's most dynamic songs to date and is nothing like anything I've ever heard from Keep Flying. It's not the usual hardcore punk blasting, horn belting Keep Flying that we're all used to, but is rather more dialed back in tempo and is more, dare I say "ballad-sounding".

Keep Flying has always been a band that's words speak just as loud as their actions, and they do this with Artie which is primarily lyrically driven with still a lot to digest. While horns are still present, they're just not as much of a primary focus in the tune until the very end. Those swift, subtle dynamics in the tune really make it shine like the nearly acapella harmonies at around 1 min. into the tune to the back-and-forth lead vocals between guitar and trombone to the beast crescendo that happens from start to finish, building up to a big end.
