KID DAD - “Naked Creatures" SINGLE REVIEW

German indie-rock quartet KID DAD have released a new single NAKED CREATURES.
The band is an ingenious collision of indie-rock meets the post grunge movement with a dynamic range all over the map. Just when you think a song is going to be more melodic and acoustic feeling, it hits the ground running like a bat out of hell with the abrasive intensity of bands like Saosin and Circa Survive. I love the way the band shows diversity without being too far outside of the box of creativity which makes the band feel wholesome and familiar to the ear. Kid Dad’s distinct sound has led to the band playing shows with the likes of Taking Back Sunday, Marmozets and Fatherson.
KID DAD's latest single NAKED CREATURES is a perfect example of that. It starts out slow and melodic and then kicks in about 1/3 of the way through, maintaining its intensity throughout the entire song. Kid Dad's Marius Vieth (guitar/vocals) says of ‘Naked Creatures’: “I wrote this song two years ago while I was spending some very calm and therapeutic time in Switzerland. I cut myself off from the world around me and cocooned myself in my great uncle’s organ room. The song plays on two extremes – introvertism and extrovertism – we have always combined these two elements, but never to this extent.”
KID DAD kicks off their EU/UK tour this February with The Deadnotes.
