Matt Skiba is Unsure If He’s Still in blink-182

Since Tom Delonge’s second departure from legendary pop-punk band blink-182 in 2015, Alkaline Trio vocalist and guitarist Matt Skiba has stepped in to fill Delonge’s shoes. Not only fill in, but extensively tour and even drop a full length album in 2019 entitled NINE.

The band had to cancel a number of tour dates within the last few years due to the COVID-19 outbreak as well as blink bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus being diagnosed with cancer last year.

In a recent Instagram post on the guitarist/frontman’s personal account username “Blinkinpark89” comments: “You guys think he is still in Blink? No Blink content here and the Blink guys dont Post pictures mit matt”….

To which Skiba responds: “…your

guess is as good as mine. Regardless, I am very proud of and thankful for my time w @blink182. We shall see.”

The other members of blink-182 have yet to respond on this. The band also has not posted any recent touring or recording info. The band was rumored to be headed back in the studio post-pandemic before Hoppus’ cancer diagnosis.

Matt Skiba is currently gearing up to head out on tour with his band Alkaline Trio in support of Coheed and Cambria’s tour later this month.
