JOHN VAN DEUSEN - “Whatever Makes You Mine” SINGLE REVIEW
Hailing from Anacortes, WA is indie singer/songwriter John Van Deusen, who's influences from his own close musician friends feed his output of music.
His sound is what I can only describe as an indie-grunge version of the Foo Fighters, acoustic and melodic with a driving crunch rock sound. His latest single WHATEVER MAKES YOU MINE is a sure fire example of this, with the tune opening up to distorted guitars over driving drums and doubled vocals. The choruses are heavy yet not overbearing to let the lyrics of the chorus breathe and do their job. The interlude has an awesome transition to balance the tune out.
WHATEVER MAKES YOU MINE is the first single from John's upcoming album: "(I Am) Origami Pt. 3 - A Catacomb Hymn" produced by Andy D. Park (Pedro the Lion, Deep Sea Diver which is set to be released on July 19th via Tooth & Nail Records.
