LUKE SEYMOUP - “Hand-Me-Downs" SINGLE REVIEW

BURNETT STREET

Luke Seymoup - Guitar/Vocals

Brendan Kelly - Keys/Vocals Rhys Cogley - Bass Martyn Richmond - Drums

no hugs

Already featured on TPPD back when his forthcoming album BURNETT STREET released, LUKE SEYMOUP, is back at it with his band's latest single, HAND-ME-DOWN.

The WHISK & KEY RECORDS staffer brings forth this indie-rock-punk single just in time to clock in the new year and the holidays.

The tune Hand Me Down is this up-beat indie rock tune that reminds me of a punk rock Tom Petty song at first listen. Something about that guitar and Luke's voice combined with the simple four-on-the-floor drum combo is magic.

The tune also has the angelic touch of female guest vocalist Lisa De Angelis which contrasts to Luke's midrange to low voice. Their dueling vocal harmony lines are sick, and hearing the high range voice to low range on octave stacks works well in this song without any overkill. Lisa takes helm on second verse duty, and as I said, it's rad hearing them go back and forth and then come together for a chorus telling a beautifully written story. You can check out the lyric video below for the song which is OUT NOW!
