THE DEADNOTES - “Makeup" SINGLE REVIEW

Germany indie/punk trio THE DEADNOTES have been chipping their way to the top of the Indie/Punk scene and are critically proclaimed to be one of the hottest newcomer acts of 2019. With nearly 500 shows under the band's belt, they've been going hard and heavy since the age of 14 relentlessly touring through over 25 European countries and sharing the stage with acts like Boston Manor, Don Broco, Beach Slang, The Front Bottoms and Such Gold.
The band recently dropped their latest single Makeup via the band's own record label 22Lives Records. The single was produced by Bob Cooper (WSTR, DUCKING PUNCHES, Nervus), mixed by Beau Burchell (Moose Blood, Saosin, The Bronx) and mastered by Mike Kalajian (Moose Blood, Saosin, Prawn, Bouncing Souls).
Makeup is both as awe inspiring audibly as the music video is visually. The tune is about the different ways people struggle with themselves, unable to find comfort with the way they simply are or how they act and instead harm themselves in trying to be different to fit in or please other people. “The song is ostensibly a socially critical song tackling beauty ideals and the way people judge each other”, says Darius.
An extensive UK/EU tour is underway now with shows in UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and The Netherlands.
The band is set to take on a EU/UK tour then head back to the US to finish off some dates.
