TROUBLED MINDS -Exit Stage Left ALBUM REVIEW

EXIT STAGE LEFT

Matt Aldawood Gabe Adair John Bacino

TROUBLED MINDS

Hailing from Phoenix, AZ with the Emo/Pop-Punk fueled sound that combines the revival sound of modern pop-punk bands with the good ole' classic throwbacks from the early 2000's is TROUBLED MINDS.

The band gives off the vibes and feels of a bunch of bands ranging from The Starting Line and The Get Up Kids to Jack's Mannequin and Real Friends.

With high-range vocals, simplistic meets complex yet groovy drum fills and melodic clean guitar parts over distorted resonance, the band brings on a sound familiar yet new with their latest EP EXIT STAGE LEFT. Tunes like title track Exit Stage Left take me back to the first time I put on The Starting Line's album "Based On A True Story" meets the modern sound of Real Friends "Maybe This Place Is The Same, But We're Just Changing."

Tunes like TUNNELS and CATCH ME AND I'M FINE have that same vibe with a more dynamic approach, utilizing different rhythm changes, acoustic guitars, and build-ups that change groove. Rounding out the album are tunes; BIRDIE and NO COMPASS which have this Jack's Mannequin/Andrew McMahon/Something Corporate/Whatever he's calling himself these days, meets a combination of all of the bands formerly mentioned.

While TROUBLED MINDS has this sound of throwback meets modern reminiscence they still have their own fresh, one-of-a-kind sound that separates them and makes them stick out in in the crowd. I can't wait to hear more from this band as I feel they've only begun to scratch the surface.
