YOUTH ILLUSION - “Better Off" SINGLE REVIEW
Zach Almond - Guitar, Vocals Rory Deans - Bass, Vocals “Vacancy” - Drums
London based punk trio Youth Illusion are finally ready to announce themselves to the world with their debut single ‘Better Off’ which is due for release March 1st, 2019.
Since forming early 2018 the band have been working hard behind the scenes on making their EP as strong as possible. Working with Top 50 Album producer, James Curtis-Thomas at Essex Recording Studios, their debut offering promises to show exactly what these guys are capable of.
With only a handful of live appearances under their belt, the band have not only landed them a slot on Camden Rocks Festival, but they have already played as main support to I Set My Friends On Fire in Huddersfield last October and headlined the Roadtrip and Workshop in London for Hot Vox which has now also gained them a chance to perform at the legendary Isle of Wight Festival.
The tune Better Off takes the modern day punk rock sound on full force with a familiar feel to bands like Against Me!, Anti-Flag and old school Rise Against. The entire song is heavy with little moment of slowing down, heavy guitars and blasting drums with melodic vocal and guitar parts with 2/3 part harmonies make this a perfectly well rounded tune.
But don't take my word for it! Listen to Better Off below!
