LAGWAGON Announces New Album, Single and Tour!

Legendary California punk rock band LAGWAGON recently announced the band's 9th studio album entitled RAILER due out October 4th via Fat Wreck Chords. Railer is produced by Cameron Webb (Alkaline Trio, Motörhead).

As frontman Joey Cape explains, ‘railer’ is “a funny word from childhood that means ‘silly bad’, like lame” and it captures the sense of throwback that flows through the new album’s 12 songs. That idea of looking to the past was inspired after Cape came up with “Bubble,” RAILER’s first single as well as first song he wrote for the album, and he then just took that idea and ran with it.

As Cape explains: “The idea of that song was to embrace and appreciate what you have,” explains Cape, “I really specifically tried to make it feel and sound like an old Lagwagon song, so I borrowed a lot from early records for it. And then from there, I just kept thinking that the rules have to be that ‘RAILER’ feels like something Lagwagon might have done in the old days. I wanted to see what would happen if I didn’t overthink things and I just tried to write a record as quickly as possible without losing the quality I expect from myself as a songwriter.”

Lagwagon has also announced a fall North American co-headlining tour with Fat Wreck label mates Face to Face. Tour kicks off on September 27 in Tacoma, WA, extending through October 27 hitting major cities such as Detroit, Brooklyn, Chicago, Boston, and more. The tour also includes support from H20, MakeWar and Destroy Boys, with tickets going on sale Friday, August 2.
