LAGWAGON "Surviving California" SINGLE REVIEW

Legendary California punk rock band LAGWAGON recently announced the band's 9th studio album entitled RAILER due out October 4th via Fat Wreck Chords. Railer is produced by Cameron Webb (Alkaline Trio, Motörhead).

The band is super stoked to be releasing their latest and 2nd single from the forthcoming record entitled “Surviving California,” a track penned by frontman Joey Cape that serves as both a personal and political treatise on the socio-economic state of America today.

As Joey Cape explains about the track: “Yes, California has elements of a paradise but it is overpopulated and there are many issues as a result. A land so desirable brings pockets of wealth, ‘debtors of the dream’, people who gentrify areas and turn towns into gated communities. Later the wealth crest spills and pushes into less affluent areas. Standards for wealth reflection are lowered and people living beyond their means are priced out of their homes. Many people lose everything and the state’s moderate climate sets the stage for a very Californian lack of empathy and sympathy.”

Lagwagon has also announced a fall North American co-headlining tour with Fat Wreck label mates Face to Face. Tour kicks off on September 27 in Tacoma, WA, extending through October 27 hitting major cities such as Detroit, Brooklyn, Chicago, Boston, and more. The tour also includes support from H20, MakeWar and Destroy Boys, with tickets going on sale Friday, August 2.
